Duke Avatar Ideas: Meet Duke Dexter

Every court needs a host, and in the Royals this one wears emerald velvet. On AllTheMuse he is Duke Dexter, the Common Muse of Royals — the room whose tagline is “Long live the plush.” These duke avatar ideas start with Dexter himself, the court's host, then walk the whole ten-Muse court around him — queen, king, emperor, princesses, a prince, a baron, a jester and a jewel-keeper — meet the two other Dukes elsewhere in the catalog, and do the bundle math honestly. New here? Start with what is a Muse avatar?, then take your seat.

Meet Duke Dexter, the Court's Host

Dexter's own page sums him up in one line: “A polished, generous duke — Dexter believes a compliment costs nothing and can crown somebody's whole day, and that the best parties are the ones where everyone feels like royalty.” His fuller description dresses him for the part: “a polished duke in an emerald velvet coat with gold buttons and a gold medallion chain bearing a fleur-de-lis pendant — Dexter hosts the finest garden parties in the kingdom and always, always compliments your hat.” His lines hold the same line: “Emerald velvet, gold medallion — and yes, I always compliment the hat.”

As a Common, Duke Dexter costs 50 Muse Coins and carries no edition cap, with 0 editions claimed so far — he can be collected any time, by anyone. The court's bigger titles already have spotlights of their own, the king and the queen among them. The duke's turn is this page, and his pitch is the simplest in the room: the host is a 50-coin Common, and the party is better with everyone in it.

The Thrones: Queen Reina and King Leo

Above Dexter sit the room's two flagships. Queen Reina, a Mythic at 200 coins, is the graceful queen in a crimson velvet gown with a gold brocade bodice sparkling with jewels and a silver tiara crowned with a pink heart gem — she believes every day deserves a little ceremony, and can turn an ordinary Tuesday into a royal occasion. King Leo, a Legendary at 150 coins, is the warm-hearted king in a deep purple velvet robe with gold trim and a fluffy white collar, under a golden crown set with red, blue and green jewels — a ruler who listens first, hugs often, and makes sure nobody in the kingdom goes without a treat.

Dexter works beneath both of them in price and alongside both in spirit, which is the honest shape of this court: the thrones carry the ceremony and the decrees — Leo's are mostly about snacks and nap time — and the 50-coin duke makes sure everyone at the party feels like royalty. A shelf that starts with Dexter and grows toward Reina's tiara is a collection with a point of view: welcome first, ceremony later.

The Titled Commons: Emperor Emil and Baron Bram

Dexter's nearest titled neighbors cost exactly what he costs. Emperor Emil is the solemn little emperor in a charcoal hooded robe embroidered with a golden laurel wreath, crowned with gold laurel leaves — earnest, dutiful and secretly very cuddly, he practices his royal wave in the mirror every single morning. Baron Bram is the jolly old baron in a burgundy robe with a golden scepter embroidered down the front and a fur-trimmed hood, keeper of the castle keys on one big ring — he has unlocked every door in the castle at least once, and believes every key opens a story worth telling.

An emperor, a duke and a baron walk into the same price step: all three are Commons at 50 coins, with no edition caps. Titles in this room are personality, not pricing — the rarity ladder sets the cost, and the Commons row is where the court's working titles live. Dexter, the host, sits naturally between Emil's mirror-rehearsed wave and Bram's ring of keys: one practices greeting people, one opens the doors, and one throws the party.

Princesses, a Prince, and the Court at Play

The rest of the court fills in around the host. Princess Pearl is the serene princess in a lilac gown trimmed with pearls, a double strand of pearls and a dainty pearl tiara, certain that pearls go with everything and kindness most of all. Princess Odette is the gentle princess in a blush-pink ballgown with soft white swan-feather trim and a tiny gold crown, who twirls through the palace gardens and counts every swan on the lake a close friend. Prince Caspian is the gallant young prince in a navy jacket with gold epaulettes, a crimson sash and a small gold circlet, who believes courage means going first so others feel safe — and whose cloak goes over the puddle first.

At play, the court has Jester Jax, in a scarlet-and-gold diamond-patterned suit and a three-point hat jingling with gold bells, who tumbles into every room bells-first with a joke ready for any occasion, and Jewel Jules, the dazzling jewel-keeper in a deep teal coat with gold trim and a huge sparkling ruby brooch, who polishes the crown rubies until they gleam and knows every gem in the vault by name. All five are Commons at 50 coins — which completes the room: 10 Muses, a Mythic at 200, a Legendary at 150, and eight Commons at 50, Dexter among them.

The Other Dukes: Denim Duke and Dane Duke

Dexter is not the catalog's only Duke. A check of all 1,184 Muses turns up exactly three with the name: the duke of Royals, plus a duke you collect for free and a duke who is a dog. Denim Duke is a Common in the Free Muses, priced at 0 coins — the helpful neighbor in overalls who fixes things, grows things, and always has a spare tool and a kind word. His whole philosophy fits in one line: “Fixes things, grows things, hugs well.”

Dane Duke, of Top Dogs, is a Mythic at 200 coins, capped at 100 editions with 0 claimed so far — a noble giant who thinks he's lap-sized, in a burgundy tee printed with a noble Great Dane and a matching burgundy cap. His own verdict: “Noble giant, yes. Lap-sized, also yes. I weigh eleven pounds, emotionally.” Three Dukes, three doors into collecting: free in overalls, 50 coins in emerald velvet, or 200 for the giant who wants your lap.

How to Start: Dexter First, Then the Bundle Math

A new account starts with 150 Muse Coins at signup, no claim step — exactly enough for Dexter plus any two other Royals Commons at once: the host, and say the emperor who practices his wave and the baron who holds the keys, in a single first step. Or put the 150 toward the 250-coin bundle and finish the entire court for less than Queen Reina costs alone.

The math, plainly: bought one by one, the 10 Royals total 750 coins — a Mythic at 200, a Legendary at 150, and eight Commons at 50 each. The bundle unlocks all 10 for 250 coins. Not ready to spend coins at all? The gallery holds 269 Free Muses priced at 0 coins, free to collect with no balance needed — Denim Duke among them — while you decide. And when Dexter is collected, the room's full walk is in the Royals collection guide.
