Monster Avatar Guide: Meet the Ten Tiny Monsters of Monster Mash

A monster avatar does not have to be scary. Monster Mash is the AllTheMuse room built on exactly that idea — its tagline is "Ten tiny monsters, zero scares," and every Muse in it is a friendly little monster on the same warm plush body as every other Muse avatar: goo and horns and soft spikes, never fangs-and-claws horror. With Halloween days away, this is the monster room to collect — here is the full roster of ten, with rarities and prices verified from the live collection, the two flagships, and how the 250-coin bundle beats buying them one by one.

Meet the Ten Tiny Monsters

The room holds ten Muses, and the spread is top-heavy in a good way: one Mythic, one Legendary, two Epics, three Rares and three Commons. Every description below comes from the collection itself — these are pattern monsters, each one a different soft idea.

The Flagships: Gooey Gus and Horns Hugo

Gooey Gus leads the room as its Mythic — 200 Muse Coins, in a numbered edition capped at 100. The goo is the whole design: glossy mint green, dripping softly over his head, with little sparkles caught in it. He is the one to start with if you collect flagships first.

Horns Hugo is the Legendary — 150 coins, edition capped at 250. Periwinkle blue with two small cream horns and one big pale belly spot, he is the friendliest-looking monster in the room, which is saying something. Together the pair costs 350 coins singly — more than double the 150 Muse Coins a new account starts with, so a first-day collector can take both flagships home and still have the rest of the room to chase.

The Middle of the Room: Epics and Rares

The two Epics sit at 100 coins each, in editions capped at 1,000. Wavy Tess is the lavender one — scalloped wavy hem, soft swirls — and Spiky Spike is the teal one, his spikes rounded and soft all along his top and back. Neither would scare anyone, and that is the point.

The three Rares cost 75 coins each, in editions capped at 5,000: Puff Paddy in cream-pink with rosy spots, Stripes Zeke in coral-and-cream stripes, and Fuzzy Fang, the peach fluffy one whose single tiny fang is the closest this room ever gets to a scary detail. At 75 coins, a Rare is also an easy step up from a first Common when you want the collection to feel like it is going somewhere.

The Commons: Where Most Collections Start

Three Commons round out the ten at 50 coins each, with no edition cap: Gertie Giggles, sunny yellow and freckle-dotted; Socko Sal, the rainbow-striped sock-puppet monster; and Muddle Merv, olive green with polka dots that never match — cream here, mustard there. Fifty coins is the standard Common price across AllTheMuse, and a Common monster is a fair first unlock if you are testing whether monster collecting is your thing.

New here? Start even cheaper: the Free Muses room holds Muses priced at 0 coins, free to collect outright, and a new account starts with 150 Muse Coins at signup — enough for the whole Commons row six times over, or, as the next section shows, the entire Monster Mash room with coins to spare. Browse the room in the gallery or start from the muse avatars hub.

Bundle Math: 250 Coins for the Whole Mash

Bought one by one, the ten monsters cost 925 Muse Coins: 200 + 150 + 100 + 100 + 75 + 75 + 75 + 50 + 50 + 50. The Monster Mash bundle unlocks the whole room for a flat 250 coins — a saving of 675 — and if you already own part of the set, the finish-the-set price is pro-rated so you only pay for the Muses you are missing. At 250, the bundle also fits inside a new account's 150 signup coins, leaving 100 coins in your wallet for a first Muse from another room.

One honest note on the flagships: the bundle unlocks all ten Muses, but Gooey Gus and Horns Hugo are numbered editions — capped at 100 and 250 — so their editions fill from unlocks however you get them. If a capped flagship is the one you want most, sooner is genuinely better than later.

Monster Mash or Spooky Season?

AllTheMuse has two Halloween-season rooms, and they are not the same thing. Spooky Season is the costume room — 20 Muses, pumpkins, ghosts, witches and haunted houses, led by Ghostly Boo, a Mythic at 200 coins; the full roster is in our Spooky Season guide. Its monsters are Muses dressed for Halloween — Spooky even has its own Little Monster, a Common at 50 coins.

Monster Mash is the other idea: the Muses are monsters, all year round — goo, horns, stripes and spots are their bodies, not costumes. Pick Spooky Season for the holiday itself; pick Monster Mash if you want a monster avatar that still makes sense in March. Plenty of collectors take both bundles — 250 coins each — and let October decide which shelf to show off.

Frequently asked questions

How many Monster Mash Muses are there?

Ten: Gooey Gus (Mythic, 200 coins), Horns Hugo (Legendary, 150), Wavy Tess and Spiky Spike (Epic, 100 each), Puff Paddy, Stripes Zeke and Fuzzy Fang (Rare, 75 each), and Gertie Giggles, Socko Sal and Muddle Merv (Common, 50 each). The whole room unlocks as a bundle for 250 Muse Coins.

Are the Monster Mash avatars scary?

No — the room's own tagline is "Ten tiny monsters, zero scares." Every design is a friendly pattern monster on the soft Muse body: goo, small horns, rounded spikes, stripes, spots and one tiny fang. For costume-style Halloween Muses instead, see the Spooky Season room.

What is the cheapest way to collect all ten monsters?

The bundle: 250 Muse Coins for the whole Monster Mash room, against 925 coins bought singly. If you already own some of the ten, the finish-the-set price is pro-rated to the ones you are missing. A new account's 150 signup coins cover the bundle with 100 to spare.

Which monster avatar should I collect first?

For the flagship, Gooey Gus — the Mythic, 200 coins, edition capped at 100. For the friendliest face, Horns Hugo at 150. On a small budget, any of the three 50-coin Commons — Gertie Giggles, Socko Sal or Muddle Merv — is a clean first unlock, and the bundle price adjusts for what you own.
