Muse AI Avatars: What They Are and How to Collect

A muse AI avatar is an original character designed with AI tools and finished by human artists — not a filter over your photo and not a chatbot skin. On AllTheMuse, every Muse avatar is a collectible: it has a name, a personality, a rarity, and in most cases a limited number of editions. This page explains what that means and how collecting works, with real examples from the Gallery.

What Makes It a Muse, Not Just an AI Avatar

Most AI avatars are pictures of you, restyled. A Muse is the opposite: a character with its own identity that exists whether or not you collect it. Kitsune Kiko is a kitsune fox muse — she was designed as a character first, with a set look, a personality, and a place in a collection called The Divine Twenty.

There are 1,184 Muses on AllTheMuse today, organized into 79 themed collections — and every one of them is an original design. No real people, no other companies' characters. That originality is the point: a Muse AI avatar is something you find and make yours, which is why collectors say “I found my Muse.”

Rarities and Editions, in Plain Numbers

Every Muse carries one of six rarities, and rarity sets both the coin price and how many editions can ever be claimed: Common 50 coins (open edition), Rare 75 (5,000 editions), Epic 100 (1,000), Legendary 150 (250), Mythic 200 (100), and Divine 350 (just 25). When you claim one, you get a numbered edition — the first collector of a Divine Muse holds edition #1 of 25.

Starfall Sanna and Rosette Reina sit at the top of that ladder as Divine Muses. Most collectors start lower down the ladder and trade up over time — the full ladder is always visible on the Muse Avatars hub.

How Collecting Works

Collecting runs on Muse Coins. A new account starts with 150 Muse Coins at signup plus a free starter Muse chosen at random — enough to unlock a Legendary Muse on day one, or three Commons, or an Epic and a Common. Coins also come from daily visits, streaks, and finishing collections: complete a set and you earn +100 coins back.

Some Muses cost nothing at all: 269 of the 1,184 are free to collect at 0 coins in the Gallery — sort by price and they are all there. Paid Muses like Boba Bess, a Mythic boba-tea muse at 200 coins, sit one shelf over in the same Gallery. Either way, what you collect lives in your Vault, with a collector card you can download and share.

Where to Start

Start with the Muse Avatars hub to see the whole catalog by collection, or read how these collectibles compare with generator tools in AI avatar collectibles, explained. If one character catches your eye — a kirin like Kirin Keiko, a fox, a cup of boba — that catch is the whole idea. One of them is your Muse.
