Muse Avatar Collection: How the 78 Collections on AllTheMuse Work

A Muse avatar collection is a themed room of collectible characters on AllTheMuse — and today there are 78 of them. Some are built around a theme, like pirates, zodiac signs or Christmas. Others are not themes at all, but shelves that sort the whole catalog by price, rarity or origin. This guide explains the system itself: how the two kinds of collections differ, what the rarity ladder inside every room costs, how set bundles work, and why the same Muse can stand on more than one shelf. If you are brand new, start with what is a Muse avatar? — then come back and pick a room in the collections index or the Muse avatars hub.

Two Kinds of Collections: Themed Rooms and Special Shelves

Most of the 78 collections are themed rooms. Pirates of the Plush Seas holds 10 Muses — a full crew from First Mate Pearl, a Mythic at 200 Muse Coins, down through Captain Barnacle, a Legendary at 150, to eight Commons at 50 each. The pattern repeats across the map: Zodiac holds 12, one per sign; Christmas holds 18; Spooky Season holds 20; World Tour holds 30 countries in one very small suitcase; and the biggest themed rooms, Pet Parade at 33 Muses and Farm Animals at 29, grew past their founding casts as the Muse Lab added new members.

The other seven collections are special shelves — lenses on the whole catalog rather than themes. Free Muses holds 269 Muses priced at 0 coins, free to collect with no balance needed. Premium holds the mirror image: all 915 Muses that cost coins. Between them they account for every Muse on the site — 269 free plus 915 paid is the full 1,184-Muse catalog today. The Founder Collection keeps the original twelve, Legend gathers 177 of the rarest tiers, Rare Discovery surfaces 226 rare finds, the Companion Collection holds 6 companion-hearted Muses, and the Lab Collection shelves all 154 Muses born in the hourly Muse Lab.

The Rarity Ladder Inside Every Room

Every Muse carries a rarity, and on the standard ladder every Muse of a rarity costs the same, whichever room it stands in: Common 50 Muse Coins, Rare 75, Epic 100, Legendary 150, Mythic 200, and Divine 350 — the ladder is printed on the Premium room's own rule. Rarity also sets the edition cap: a Mythic is capped at 100 editions, a Legendary at 250, an Epic at 1,000 and a Rare at 5,000, while Commons carry no cap. At the very top, each of The Divine Twenty — including Starfall Sanna, pictured at the top of this guide — costs 350 coins and is capped at just 25 editions.

Themed rooms usually open with a flagship pair. In Spooky Season, Ghostly Boo is the Mythic at 200 coins, capped at 100 editions, and Pumpkin Patch is the Legendary at 150. In Christmas, Reindeer Games is the Mythic at 200 and Santa is the Legendary at 150, capped at 250 editions, above eight Epics at 100 each. A few shelves break the ladder on purpose: the Founder Collection's twelve originals are all a flat 50 coins each, whatever their rarity — its Epic, Merlin Muffin, costs the same 50 as its Commons.

Bundles: The Set Price for a Whole Room

69 of the 78 collections carry a bundle — one set price that unlocks the room's Muses together instead of one at a time. 59 of those bundles cost 250 Muse Coins, including Pirates, Zodiac and Spooky Season. The rest scale with the room: Christmas is 300, the 15-Muse Icons room is 350, Produce Patch is 400, and the two 500-coin bundles belong to World Tour, with 30 Muses, and The Glow Collection, whose ten Muses are all Mythic.

The math is why collectors use them. The ten Pirates cost 750 coins bought one by one — 200 plus 150 plus eight at 50 — against a 250-coin bundle. The twelve Zodiac Muses cost 850 singly, also 250 as a bundle. The nine rooms with no bundle are exactly the special shelves, The Divine Twenty and The Witching Hour: Free, Founder, Legend, Premium, Rare Discovery, Companion and Lab Muses are each unlocked individually, and Divine masterpieces are collected one at a time by design. Our avatar bundles explainer walks through how bundle ownership resolves when you already own part of a set.

One Muse, More Than One Shelf

A Muse has one home room, but it can stand on several shelves at once. Ghostly Boo lives in Spooky Season, was born in the Lab so he also stands in the Lab Collection, and his Mythic rarity puts him in Legend and Premium too. Those are not four copies to buy: unlock him once, in any room, and he is yours everywhere — the same character, with the same prompt pack and full-resolution artwork download.

The computed shelves are what make browsing by intent possible. Looking for a cat? Kitten, the Pet Parade Mythic at 200 coins, also appears wherever Mythics gather. Looking to spend nothing? Every Muse in Free Muses — like Linden Winifred, a Common priced at 0 coins — can be collected outright, and new free Muses join the room regularly. The Gallery shows the whole catalog in one stream when you would rather wander than pick a room first.

How to Build Your Own Muse Avatar Collection

Your own collection is simply the Muses you have unlocked, and there are three honest ways to start. First, the free way: open Free Muses and collect any of its 269 Muses at 0 coins — no balance needed, and each one is yours forever. Second, the signup way: a new account starts with 150 Muse Coins, enough for one 250-coin room bundle with 100 left over, or a flagship pair such as a Mythic and a Legendary together. Third, the theme way: pick the room that matches your taste — a sport, a season, an animal, a sign — and work that set.

However you start, two tools keep it deliberate. The Find Your Muse match points you at the character that fits you before you spend a coin, and each Muse's own page shows its live edition count, so you can see how many of a capped Mythic or Legendary remain before deciding. Collecting a full room is a finish line, not a requirement — most collectors mix a bundle or two with single flagships from other rooms.

Frequently asked questions

How many Muse avatar collections are there?

78, verified live today: 71 themed rooms — from Pirates of the Plush Seas and Zodiac to World Tour and The Divine Twenty — plus 7 special shelves that sort the whole catalog: Free Muses (269), Premium (915), Founder (12), Legend (177), Rare Discovery (226), Companion (6) and Lab (154).

What is the difference between a themed room and a special shelf?

A themed room gathers Muses by subject — pirates, pets, Christmas — and usually carries a bundle. A special shelf gathers Muses by a rule instead: Free Muses holds every Muse priced at 0 coins, Premium holds every paid Muse, and Lab holds every Muse born in the Muse Lab. The same Muse can stand in a room and on several shelves at once.

How much does it cost to complete a Muse avatar collection?

In the 69 rooms that carry a bundle, the set price is the completion cost: 250 Muse Coins for 59 of them, rising to 300 for Christmas, 350 for Icons, 400 for Produce Patch and 500 for World Tour and The Glow Collection. Bought singly, the same rooms cost far more — Pirates is 750 coins one by one against its 250 bundle. The 9 bundle-less shelves are collected one Muse at a time, from 0 coins in Free Muses to 350 for each Divine.

Can the same Muse be in two collections?

Yes. Ghostly Boo, for example, lives in Spooky Season and also stands in the Lab, Legend and Premium shelves. It is one Muse, not several copies — unlocking it once, in any of its rooms, unlocks it everywhere.
