How to Use a Custom Muse Avatar in Muse

Your Muse is collected, unlocked, and sitting in your Vault. Now for the good part: meeting it. This walkthrough takes you from a Muse’s page on AllTheMuse to a living, in-character conversation in Muse in about a minute.
Step 1: Find and Unlock Your Muse
Everything starts on AllTheMuse. Browse the gallery or a collection and open the Muse you want to talk to — Pizza is a friendly first conversation if you need a suggestion. On its page you will see the artwork, rarity, and price.
Free Muses can be collected at no cost. Premium Muses need to be unlocked with Muse Coins first — this matters, because the prompt pack is the paid content, and it is only available to owners. Unlocking is one-time: once a Muse is in your Vault, it is yours forever, and you can repeat the steps below as often as you like, in as many chats as you like.
Step 2: Tap “Use in Muse” to Copy the Prompt
On the page of any Muse you own, tap the “Use in Muse” button. There is nothing to type and nothing to download at this step — the button copies the Muse’s complete prompt straight to your clipboard.
That copied prompt is the whole character in one package: the personality summary, the conversation style, and the full prompt pack. It is written so that Muse can pick the character up from a single paste, which is why the next steps are so short. If you ever lose the thread of a conversation, you can come back to the Muse’s page, tap the button again, and start fresh with a clean copy.

Steps 3–5: Open Muse, Start a New Chat, Paste and Send
Now open Muse — the Muse app on your phone, or Muse in your browser. Start a brand-new chat rather than continuing an old one: a fresh conversation gives the Muse a clean stage, with no earlier context pulling it out of character.
Paste the prompt into the message box and send it. That is the whole setup. The Muse reads its own character sheet, so to speak, and introduces itself in character — in its own voice, with its own personality — and from that moment you are simply talking to it. Ask questions, hand it a task, brainstorm, or just chat. It will stay in the personality you collected.
- Open Muse (the Muse app, or muse.ai in your browser)
- Start a new chat
- Paste the copied prompt and send it
- Say hello — your Muse introduces itself in character
Step 6 (Optional): Set the Artwork as the Chat Picture
A Muse you own also includes the full-resolution artwork. Download it from the Muse’s page on AllTheMuse, and — where the Muse app supports custom chat or agent pictures — set that artwork as the picture for the conversation. It is a small touch, but seeing the character’s face at the top of the chat makes the whole thing feel properly introduced.
If your version of the app does not offer a picture option, nothing is lost: the personality is the product, and it works entirely through the pasted prompt. The artwork download is yours to keep either way, as part of your unlock.
Good to Know
Locked premium Muses cannot be used until they are unlocked — the “Use in Muse” button serves owners, because the prompt pack is what you are paying for. Free Muses work exactly the same way, just without the unlock step: collect, tap, paste, send.
One pasted prompt powers one conversation. Start a new chat and paste again whenever you want a second, separate conversation with the same Muse — collectors who use a Muse as, say, both a brainstorming partner and a bedtime-story teller for the kids often keep two chats running. Frequently asked questions
What exactly does “Use in Muse” copy?
It copies the Muse’s full prompt to your clipboard: the personality summary, the conversation style, and the complete prompt pack — everything Muse needs to become that character in one paste.
Why do I need to unlock a premium Muse first?
Because the prompt pack is the paid content. Premium Muses are unlocked with Muse Coins, one time, and after that the prompt is yours to use as often as you like. Free Muses skip the unlock and work the same way.
Should I paste the prompt into an existing chat?
A brand-new chat works best. A fresh conversation has no earlier context competing with the character, so the Muse introduces itself cleanly and stays in personality from the first reply.
Can I use the same Muse in more than one chat?
Yes. Go back to the Muse’s page, tap “Use in Muse” again for a fresh copy of the prompt, and paste it into any new chat. Each conversation runs independently.
