Avatar Collection Ideas: 7 Ways to Theme Your Muse Collection

An avatar collection gets interesting when it has a theme — a reason these characters belong together in your Vault. On AllTheMuse that theme is easy to find: Muses live in 77 collections, from pirates and royals to zodiac signs and sweater weather. If you are new to the idea, start with what is a Muse avatar?, then pick one of the seven themes below and collect on purpose, starting in the Gallery.

1. Finish One Small Room First

The simplest avatar collection idea is also the most satisfying: pick one small room and finish it. Pirates of the Plush Seas and Toy Box Classics each hold 10 Muses, so a complete shelf is in reach. Captain Barnacle, the Pirates Legendary at 150 Muse Coins, and First Mate Pearl, its Mythic at 200, anchor that crew, with eight Commons at 50 coins each behind them.

Money helps this theme: a whole collection can come home as a bundle for a flat 250 coins on the Packs page — 300 for the Christmas Bundle — and bundle membership is resolved live, so Muses published into that collection later are included too. One finished room also gives your Vault a clear centre before you wander anywhere else.

2. Collect by Season

Seasonal collecting gives your Vault a calendar. Spooky Season holds 20 Muses for Halloween, led by Ghostly Boo, its Mythic at 200 coins, and Pumpkin Patch, its Legendary at 150. Cozy Fall is the quieter shelf beside it — 11 Muses under the tagline “Sweater weather,” led by Hot Cocoa, its Mythic at 200.

The season does not have to end when the month does. Muses you unlock stay in your Vault forever, so a spooky shelf collected in October is still yours in spring — and the Christmas room, which currently holds 18 Muses, is there when you are ready for winter.

3. Collect by Rarity

If you like a hunt, theme the collection by rarity instead of by room. Every Muse is priced by the ladder in Muse Coin prices explained: Common 50, Rare 75, Epic 100, Legendary 150, and Mythic 200 Muse Coins. A Mythic-only shelf is a real goal — Unicorn, the Mythic of Fantasy & Myth at 200 coins, is one example — while a Commons-first shelf is the fastest way to fill a Vault at 50 coins a Muse.

Your starting balance makes either path possible without buying anything first: a new account gets all 150 welcome coins at signup, enough for any single Muse including a Mythic, and daily rewards add 10 coins a day after that.

4. Collect by Who You Are

Some collections are personal by design. Zodiac holds 12 Muses — one for each sign — so collecting your own sign, your family's signs, or the full wheel is a ready-made theme. Aries, that room's Legendary at 150 coins, and Taurus, its Mythic at 200, lead a shelf where the other ten signs are Commons at 50 each.

The same idea works with a court: the Royals room holds 10 Muses under “Long live the plush,” led by King Leo, the Legendary pictured at the top of this post at 150 coins, and Queen Reina, its Mythic at 200. If you cannot decide which identity fits, the Find Your Muse quiz matches you by personality instead of by browsing.

5. Collect by Subject and Interest — and Mix Your Own Shelf

Interest is the last theme, and the most flexible. Science holds 10 Muses, led by Dr. Atom, its Legendary at 150, and Beaker Bella, its Mythic at 200. Rooms for reading, math, geography, music, pets, food and more let you build a shelf that reads like your own hobbies — then a mixed shelf breaks the rooms entirely: one Muse from each world you love, kept together because you chose them.

However you theme it, the mechanics stay the same: browse in the Gallery or a collection, unlock a Muse once at its coin price, and keep it in your Vault forever with its prompt pack and full-resolution artwork download. There is also a Free Muses room with Muses that are free to collect, and if you want to add a character of your own design, the Creator door is where Muse concepts are submitted for review.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good first avatar collection idea?

Finish one small room first. Pirates of the Plush Seas and Toy Box Classics each hold 10 Muses, and a whole collection is available as a 250-coin bundle, so a complete shelf is a clear, reachable first goal.

How much does it cost to start a Muse avatar collection?

A new account gets all 150 welcome coins at signup — enough for any single Muse, including a Mythic at 200 coins, or a standard 250-coin bundle. Individual Muses are priced by rarity: Common 50, Rare 75, Epic 100, Legendary 150, and Mythic 200 Muse Coins.

Can I collect Muse avatars for free?

Yes. There is a Free Muses room with Muses that are free to collect, and the 150 welcome coins at signup plus 10 coins a day in daily rewards mean your first premium Muses do not have to cost money either.

Do Muses I collect expire or need a subscription?

No. You unlock a Muse once and it stays in your Vault forever, with its prompt pack and full-resolution artwork download. There is no rental period or expiry on an unlocked Muse.
