How to Gift a Muse Avatar: Send a Muse to a Friend at Its Coin Price

Some Muse avatars are not for you — they are obviously, instantly for someone else. On AllTheMuse you can act on that: any Muse can be gifted to a friend at its regular Muse Coin price, straight from its page, and it lands directly in their Vault as theirs forever. This guide explains exactly how to gift a Muse avatar, what it costs, and the checks that stop a gift from going wrong — a duplicate, a sold-out edition, or a balance that comes up short.

What Gifting a Muse Means

Gifting is a purchase you make for someone else. You pay the Muse's normal coin price from your own balance, and the Muse itself is delivered to the other person's account — not yours. It arrives in their Vault with everything ownership normally includes: the character, its prompt pack and conversation style, and the full-resolution artwork download.

The gift is permanent. There is no rental period and no expiry, and the Muse counts toward the recipient's collection exactly as if they had unlocked it themselves — including its edition number when the Muse is a capped rarity. You are not sending a copy of a Muse you own; your own Vault is unchanged, and the price is the price on the Muse's page, the same ladder as every unlock: Common 50, Rare 75, Epic 100, Legendary 150, Mythic 200 Muse Coins.

How to Gift a Muse, Step by Step

Every Muse page carries the gift button next to its other actions — you will find it on First Mate Pearl, the Mythic of Pirates of the Plush Seas, and on a 50-coin Common like Salty Sam exactly the same way. The gift window shows you the two numbers that matter before anything is sent: the Muse's price and your current coin balance.

The recipient is identified by account, not by a link or a code: you type their email address or their display name. That means your friend needs a free AllTheMuse account for the gift to find them — if there is no account under what you typed, the gift cannot be sent. Email is the surest identifier: if a display name matches more than one person, the system asks you to use their email instead.

The Checks That Protect Your Gift

Four checks run before a gift completes, and each one refuses the gift rather than wasting your coins. The most useful is the owned-check: because the system knows what is already in your friend's Vault, you cannot accidentally buy them a duplicate. If they already own the Muse you picked, you are told so and can simply choose a different one.

Editions are the second guard. Most Muses are released in finite editions set by rarity — a Rare can be claimed 5,000 times, an Epic 1,000, a Legendary 250, and a Mythic like Unicorn of Fantasy & Myth just 100, while Commons are open editions. When every edition of a Muse has been claimed, it is sold out and can no longer be unlocked or gifted — so a capped Muse you have your eye on as a gift is worth sending while editions remain.

How Much Gifting Costs — and Where the Coins Come From

A gift costs exactly what the Muse costs — there is no gift fee and no wrapping surcharge on top of the coin price. That makes the range easy to plan around: a thoughtful Common like Medic Molly is 50 coins, an Epic like Glory Gabe is 100, and even the most expensive Muse on the site, a Mythic, is 200. Muses in the Free Muses room are priced at 0 coins.

Your starting balance may already cover it. A new account receives 150 Muse Coins at signup — enough to gift any single Muse up to 150 coins, even a 200-coin Mythic, with coins left over. Balances also grow free over time, with daily rewards of 10 coins a day in the Wallet, and if you need a top-up the Packs page sells coin packs from 500 coins for $4.99 to 3,000 coins for $19.99. The full ladder is broken down in Muse Coin prices explained.

Choosing a Muse Worth Gifting

The right gift is the Muse whose personality is already your friend's. Teddy Theo, the teddy bear at the top of this page, is the warm all-rounder; a friend who runs every holiday can be sent Santa or Reindeer Games from the Christmas room; and a pirate-obsessed friend has a whole crew waiting in the Gallery. Browse by collection, read the personality on the Muse's page, and trust the instant recognition — it is the same feeling collectors describe as finding their own Muse.

If you are torn between two, let the checks help you: open your first choice and try the gift — if your friend already owns it, the system will tell you before any coins move, and your second choice becomes the gift. And if you have not found your own Muse yet, take the Find Your Muse quiz first; people regularly spot a friend's perfect match on the way to their own.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to gift a Muse avatar?

Exactly the Muse's coin price, with no extra fee: Common 50, Rare 75, Epic 100, Legendary 150, and Mythic 200 Muse Coins, following the ladder in Muse Coin prices explained. Muses in the Free Muses room are 0 coins. A new account's 150 signup coins cover any single Muse as a gift.

Does my friend need an AllTheMuse account to receive a gift?

Yes. You address the gift to their account using their email address or display name, and the Muse lands straight in their Vault — so they need a free account first. If the name or email you enter matches no account, the gift cannot be sent; if a display name matches more than one person, use their email.

What happens if my friend already owns the Muse I picked?

The gift is stopped before any coins are charged, with the message “They already own this Muse.” Pick a different Muse and try again — the same protection means you can never accidentally gift a duplicate.

Can I gift a sold-out Muse, or gift a whole bundle?

A sold-out Muse — one whose editions are all claimed — can no longer be gifted or unlocked, though its page stays up. Gifting works one Muse at a time from that Muse's page; Avatar Bundles, which unlock a whole collection for your own account, are a separate way to collect.
