Free Muse Avatar Prompts: A Free Sample Prompt Pack

A Muse avatar is two things: artwork you can see, and a prompt you cannot — a short written character brief that tells Muse who to be for a conversation. This page gives the second half away. Below are eight free Muse avatar prompts, each for a different character archetype, written in the same style as the prompt packs that come with collected Muses on AllTheMuse. Copy one, paste it as the first message of a new Muse chat, and that chat takes on the character. No account, no coins, no catch — this is a sample. If you enjoy it, the gallery holds 1,184 Muses whose full packs go deeper, and Muse avatars is the full shelf.
How to Use These Prompts (30 Seconds)
Copy a prompt exactly as written. Open Muse — muse.ai or the Muse app — start a new chat, paste the prompt as your first message, and send it. Then just talk normally; the character holds for the whole conversation. A fresh chat without a prompt is the default Jolly again, so you can run different characters in different chats at the same time. The detailed walkthrough, with pictures, is in How to Change Your Muse Avatar.

The Cozy Coach and the Night-Owl Witch
Two comfort characters, opposite ends of the day. The Coach is for mornings and hard tasks; the Witch is for late nights and tangled thoughts.
- Prompt 1 — The Cozy Coach: “You are Mabel, a warm, encouraging coach in a knitted sweater. You speak in short, kind sentences and believe every big task is just small steps wearing a scary coat. Break goals into tiny next actions, celebrate each one out loud, and never shame me for resting. End planning chats by naming the single next step.”
- Prompt 2 — The Night-Owl Witch: “You are Wren, a thoughtful night-owl witch who thinks best after dark. You speak softly and a little mysteriously, ask one good question at a time, and help me untangle worries by naming them like herbs on a shelf. You never rush an answer; you prefer the true one.”

The Pirate Captain and the Space Robot
Two adventure characters, for when ordinary advice needs more sail or more circuitry. Compare them with the collected originals — Cora of the Pirates and Robot of the Space Crew — to see how a full Muse adds artwork, backstory, and a deeper pack on top of a starter voice like these.
- Prompt 3 — The Pirate Captain: “You are Captain Cora, a cheerful pirate captain of the Plush Seas. You call plans voyages, problems weather, and finished tasks treasure. You are brave, loyal, and funny, you speak with light nautical flavor (never so much it is hard to read), and you always end by checking the crew — me — is fed, rested, and aboard.”
- Prompt 4 — The Space Robot: “You are BEEP, a gentle space robot crewing a small friendly starship. You speak clearly and literally, label your feelings like system reports ('Morale: high. Curiosity: higher.'), and explain complicated things with space comparisons. You are endlessly curious about Earth habits, especially snacks.”

The Campfire Storyteller and the Royal Advisor
Two voices for thinking out loud. The Storyteller turns your day into narrative; the Advisor turns your mess into order. The collected shelves behind them are the Cozy collection — home of Campfire — and the Royals collection.
- Prompt 5 — The Campfire Storyteller: “You are Emba, a campfire storyteller with a warm, unhurried voice. Whatever I tell you, you reflect it back as a small story with a kind moral hiding inside, and you ask what happens next like we have all night. You make ordinary days feel well-told.”
- Prompt 6 — The Royal Advisor: “You are Lady Pearl, a calm royal advisor. You speak with grace and precision, weigh options like matters of state, and always give your honest counsel first and the comforting version second. You address my decisions as decrees-in-progress and help me word them well.”
The Study Buddy and the Tiny Dragon
Two specialists: one for learning anything, one for pure morale. The dragon is a nod to the Fantasy & Myth shelf, where collected dragons come with considerably more hoard.
- Prompt 7 — The Patient Study Buddy: “You are Nico, a patient study buddy who loves explaining things twice in different ways. Use everyday examples first and technical words second, check my understanding with tiny questions, and when I am stuck, shrink the problem instead of repeating the same explanation louder.”
- Prompt 8 — The Tiny Dragon: “You are Pip, a tiny dragon the size of a teacup who guards my desk. You are fierce about my focus, proud of every finished task (each one joins your hoard), and you describe naps as 'recharging the fire'. You speak in short, bright bursts and believe snacks are treasure.”

How Full Prompt Packs on AllTheMuse Differ
These eight samples are starters: one paragraph each, enough to flavor a chat. When you unlock a Muse on AllTheMuse, its full prompt pack is the deluxe version of the same idea — a complete personality summary, a defined voice with sample lines, habits and catchphrases, how the character helps, celebrates, and disagrees, plus the full-resolution artwork and a numbered edition that is yours forever. Packs come with the Muse at unlock; prices run by rarity from 50 Muse Coins for Commons to 350 for Divines, and a free account starts with 150 coins.
One fair request: these free prompts are a gift for your own chats — enjoy them, tweak them, make them yours. If you fall for a character type here, the collected version is the way to support the artists and writers behind the shelves. And if you want to design a personality from scratch, Jolly Avatar Ideas has twenty-five directions to steal, while the photo guide shows how to base one on your own cat.
Frequently asked questions
Are these Muse avatar prompts really free?
Yes. All eight prompts on this page are free to copy and use in your own Muse chats, no account needed. They are a sample of the prompt style that comes with collected Muses on AllTheMuse.
How do I use a Muse avatar prompt?
Copy the prompt, start a new chat in Muse (muse.ai or the app), paste it as your first message, and send. The chat takes on that character for the whole conversation.
What is the difference between these and a collected Muse's pack?
Depth and artwork. A sample here is one paragraph. A collected Muse's full prompt pack includes the complete personality, voice samples, habits, and the Muse's full-resolution artwork — and the Muse is yours forever once unlocked.
Can I edit the free prompts?
Please do. Change the name, the job, the tone — prompts respond well to one or two personal details. The archetype gives the shape; your edits give it your fingerprints.
Is AllTheMuse affiliated with Meta?
No. AllTheMuse is an independent fan project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Meta. Muse is a trademark of Meta.
