Muse Avatars FAQ: What They Are, What They Cost, and How Collecting Works

New to Muse avatars and just want straight answers? This page is the whole idea in question-and-answer form: what a Muse avatar is, what one costs, how collecting works, and what you actually do with a Muse once it is yours. A Muse avatar is a collectible AI personality from AllTheMuse — original plush artwork plus a written character you can keep and chat with in Muse. For the longer definition, start with what is a Muse avatar?, then come back here for the practical questions.
What Are Muse Avatars, Exactly?
A Muse avatar is a finished character, not a picture you generate. Each Muse has a name, original artwork, a collection it belongs to, a rarity, and a written personality. Wizard, for example, is the Common Muse of Fantasy & Myth at 50 Muse Coins, while the Unicorn pictured above is that same collection's Mythic at 200. They were characters before anyone collected them — the same artwork and personality for every collector who unlocks them.
How many are there? Muses live in 77 collections on AllTheMuse, from Pirates of the Plush Seas with 10 Muses to Spooky Season with 20. Is a Muse avatar just a profile picture? It can be used as one — unlocked artwork downloads in full resolution — but a picture is only the face. The personality and prompt pack that come with the unlock are the voice, and that is the part a plain picture does not have.
- A finished character — name, artwork, collection, rarity, and personality
- 44 collections to browse, each with its own theme and roster
- Not generated from your photo — every Muse is the same character for every collector

How Do I Get One — and How Do I Find Mine?
You collect a Muse by unlocking it, once, at its listed coin price. Browse the Gallery by rarity and price, open a collection that fits your mood, or skip browsing entirely and take the Find Your Muse quiz, which matches you by personality. When you unlock a Muse, it goes into your Vault and stays there — there is no subscription, rental period, or expiry on an unlocked Muse.
Are any Muse avatars free? There is a Free Muses room for Muses that are free to collect, with no coins needed, and every new account also starts with a balance of Muse Coins (covered next), so a first premium Muse does not have to cost anything either. Can someone else collect the same Muse? Yes — collecting is about the character being yours in your Vault, and some rarer Muses also carry a limited edition cap, shown on their page.
- Browse the Gallery or a collection, or take the Find Your Muse quiz
- Unlock once at the Muse's coin price — yours forever in your Vault
- Free Muses room — Muses free to collect, no balance needed

How Much Do Muse Avatars Cost?
Every Muse is priced by rarity, on the ladder set out in Muse Coin prices explained: Common 50, Rare 75, Epic 100, Legendary 150, and Mythic 200 Muse Coins. Beaker Bella, the Mythic of Science, is 200 coins; Teddy Theo, the Legendary of Toy Box Classics, is 150. A whole collection can also come home as a bundle for a flat 250 coins — 300 for the Christmas Bundle — on the Packs page.
Do you have to buy coins to start? No. A new account gets all 150 welcome coins at signup — enough for any single Muse, including a Mythic, or for a standard 250-coin bundle — and daily rewards add 10 coins a day after that. Referrals pay 100 coins to you and 50 to your friend when they make their first unlock. If you do buy, coin packs are sold in the Wallet: the Starter pack is 500 coins for $4.99, the Collector pack is 1,200 for $9.99, and the Vault pack is 3,000 for $19.99. Muse Club is a $7.99 monthly membership that credits 1,200 coins a month. Muse Coins do not expire, and they have no cash value — they are credits for use inside AllTheMuse, as what are Muse Coins? explains.
- Common 50 · Rare 75 · Epic 100 · Legendary 150 · Mythic 200 Muse Coins
- Collection bundles — 250 Muse Coins, 300 for the Christmas Bundle
- New accounts — all 150 welcome coins at signup, plus 10 a day in daily rewards
- Coin packs — 500 for $4.99 · 1,200 for $9.99 · 3,000 for $19.99; Muse Club 1,200 a month for $7.99

What Do I Get When I Unlock a Muse — and How Do I Use It?
An unlock gives you the complete character: the Muse in your Vault, its full prompt pack and conversation style, and the full-resolution artwork download. To chat with your Muse, you copy its prompt pack into Muse and start a conversation — the Muse answers in its own written personality and style. Ghostly Boo, the Mythic of Spooky Season at 200 coins, chats like Ghostly Boo, not like a generic assistant with a ghost picture attached.
Do you lose your Muse if you stop paying? There is nothing to stop paying — unlocking is a one-time action, not a subscription, so an unlocked Muse is yours forever. Muse Club is optional and only adds coins each month; cancelling it never takes away Muses or coins you already have.
- Full prompt pack and conversation style for Muse
- Full-resolution artwork download, included with the unlock
- Yours forever — one-time unlock, no subscription or expiry

Can I Make My Own Muse Avatar?
Yes — through the Creator door, where you submit your own Muse concept: a name, a theme, a rarity, and a design description. Submitting is free. Every submission is reviewed by a human before anything is made, and if a concept is approved it is minted as a real collectible Muse at the unlock price set by its rarity — Common 50 through Mythic 200.
That is the honest difference between creating a Muse and generating an avatar picture: the approved result is not just a file, it is a character in a collection that anyone can unlock and keep, like Hot Cocoa, the Mythic of Cozy Fall at 200 coins. The step-by-step walkthrough is in how to create your own Muse avatar. Still deciding? Browse the Gallery, take the quiz, or read the pillar guide — whichever way you arrive, the first Muse is the one that feels like it was waiting for you.
- Free to submit — name, theme, rarity, and a design description
- Human-reviewed — nothing is made or published automatically
- Minted at its rarity price if approved — a collectible, not just a picture
