Rare Discovery Muses: Rare Finds, Barely Collected

Most rooms on AllTheMuse are organized by theme or by rarity. The Rare Discovery Collection is organized by something else entirely: neglect. Its own rule, printed on the room, is “Rare and epic muses whose collector count sits at or below the median collector count of the whole rare+epic pool” — in plain words, these are the Muse avatars almost nobody has collected yet. The room currently holds 226 of them, and because the bar is recomputed live from real purchases, the shelf changes as collectors move. This guide explains how the room works, walks its first shelf, and shows the two price points that cover nearly everything in it.
What the Rare Discovery Collection Is
The Rare Discovery Collection — tagline “Rare finds, barely collected” — currently holds 226 Muses. It is a living room, not a fixed set: any Rare or Epic Muse whose collector count sits at or below the median for the whole Rare-and-Epic pool appears here, whatever its home collection is. Turtle Tilda still lives in Deep Sea Cuddles and Samurai Sora still lives in Little Warriors; the Rare Discovery room gathers both of them, and every other overlooked Rare and Epic, onto one shelf so discovery-minded collectors do not have to visit all 78 collections to find them.
That makes it the mirror image of the Legend Collection. The Legend room gathers the rarest tiers — Legendary, Mythic and Divine. The Rare Discovery room gathers the middle tiers that people walked past: Rares at 75 coins and Epics at 100. There is no Rare Discovery bundle — the live collection carries no bundle price at all. Every Muse here is unlocked one at a time, and each unlock is yours forever. If you want the wider map first, the Muse avatars hub shows every collection in one place.

The First Shelf: Twelve Epics at 100 Coins
The room opens with twelve Epics, every one priced at 100 Muse Coins and capped at 1,000 editions, and every one with 0 editions claimed at the time of writing — barely collected is not a slogan here, it is the literal count. The Deep Sea pair comes first: Turtle Tilda and Seahorse Soren. The Little Warriors pair follows: Samurai Sora and Viking Vanya.
The Holiday Year pair is Egg Dottie and Sparkler Stella; the Decades pair is Poodle Peggy and Flapper Faye; the Game Balls pair is Baseball Bex and Tennis Tia; and the Tiny Wings pair is Dragonfly Dax and Bumble Ben. Twelve Muses, six home rooms, one flat price — the first shelf alone is a tour of corners of the catalog most visitors never open.

The Rare Side: 75 Coins, Capped at 5,000 Editions
Below the Epics sit the Rares — 75 Muse Coins each, capped at 5,000 editions. Two of the room's longest-waiting members show what that tier looks like. Loaf Paws, a Rare at 75 coins from the Muse Lab, is a cat who has decided your lap is the whole plan for today. Nova Nibble, also a Rare at 75 coins, arrived from the Lab as a guest of Fantasy & Myth. Both sit near the very end of the room's list, at positions 224 and 225 of 226 — the deep end of barely collected.
Prices inside the room run from 50 to 100 coins in total. Most members follow the standard ladder — Rare 75, Epic 100 — but a few carry their home room's flat pricing instead: Merlin Muffin, the Epic in the final slot at position 226, costs 50 coins because the Founder Collection prices every one of its Muses at a flat 50. The room's own page says it plainly: current member prices range from 50 to 100 coins. A new account starts with 150 free Muse Coins at signup, which covers any single Muse in this room several times over.

Deeper in the Room: 226 Muses Across the Whole Catalog
Past the first shelf, the room keeps crossing the catalog. Boat Bella is an Epic at 100 coins from On the Move. Unicorn Una and Dragon Ember are Storybook Epics at the same 100 coins — a second unicorn and a second dragon for collectors who already met the Fantasy & Myth flagships in our rarest Muse avatars roundup.
The full list runs to 226 names — Christmas Epics, Galaxy Knights, world travelers, cats, dogs, weather and breakfast Muses among them — and every one of them earned its place the same way: its collector count is at or below the median. That is what makes this room a discovery tool rather than a theme. You are not browsing what is popular; you are browsing what is good and unclaimed.

How to Collect From the Rare Discovery Room
Start on the Rare Discovery Collection page itself and browse the full 226. Open any Muse to check its live edition count before you decide — the preview Epics all stand at 0 claimed today, but counts move, and this room is recomputed from real purchases. Unlock once with Muse Coins and the Muse is yours forever, with its full prompt pack and the full-resolution artwork download included.
There is one honest quirk to collecting here: success removes the find. A Muse that gets collected past the median no longer qualifies for this shelf, so the room quietly refills with the next overlooked names. If a Muse on this shelf is the one you want, collecting it is also how you graduate it off the discovery list. Still torn between two? The Find Your Muse match can point you at the character that fits you best before you spend a coin.

Frequently asked questions
How many Muses are in the Rare Discovery Collection?
226, verified live today. The room gathers Rare and Epic Muse avatars from across all 78 collections on AllTheMuse whose collector count sits at or below the median for the Rare-and-Epic pool.
What makes a Muse a Rare Discovery Muse?
Its collector count. Membership is computed live from real purchases: a Rare or Epic Muse belongs here while the number of collectors who own it is at or below the median collector count of the whole Rare-and-Epic pool. The bar moves with the community.
What does a Rare Discovery Muse cost?
Member prices in the room range from 50 to 100 Muse Coins. Most follow the standard ladder — Rare Muses cost 75 coins (capped at 5,000 editions) and Epics cost 100 (capped at 1,000) — while a few, like Merlin Muffin, keep a flat 50-coin home-room price.
Can a Muse leave the Rare Discovery Collection?
Yes — that is the point of the room. Because membership is recomputed live, a Muse that gets collected past the median drops off this shelf (it stays in its home collection, and anyone who unlocked it keeps it forever). New overlooked Rares and Epics take its place.
