Storybook Avatar Ideas: 12 Tales to Collect, Once Upon a Time

A storybook avatar idea starts with one question: which tale do you want to live in? In Storybook, twelve classic tales each get one Muse — a fairy godmother in a periwinkle star-spangled ball gown, a little red-hooded traveler with her hood up, a baby emerald dragon, an orange cat in tall cavalier boots — under the tagline “Once upon a time, twelve times.” Our Storybook collection guide walks the full roster with every price; this post is the ideas companion — six ways to turn those twelve tales into a shelf with a story of its own. New to collecting? Start with what is a Muse avatar, then pick your tale.
Idea 1: Make a Wish — the Godmother and the Wizard
Every storybook shelf needs someone who can grant the wish, and Storybook keeps two kinds of magic on staff. Godmother Gilda, pictured at the top of this post, is the collection's one Mythic at 200 Muse Coins, capped at just 100 numbered editions. She wears a sparkling periwinkle-blue ball gown with silver stars, a delicate star tiara and a soft white shawl cape — the shelf's own fairy godmother, who has been turning pumpkins into transportation and rags into fashion since before anyone can remember. She believes every ordinary evening is one kind wish away from a ball.
Her tower counterpart is Wizard Wendel, one of the room's four Rares at 75 coins, capped at 5,000 editions: a deep-purple robe trimmed with gold moons and stars, a tall pointed hat resting behind his face, and a long cream scarf for dramatic tower-window moments. His spells work best on bad moods, and he believes every problem looks smaller from the top of a tower, with tea. Gilda grants the wish; Wendel talks you through it — 275 coins bought singly for the complete magic department.

Idea 2: Walk the Forest Path — the Traveler and the Knight
If your shelf runs on journeys, start on the path through the woods. Red Hood Robin is the room's one Legendary at 150 Muse Coins, capped at 250 editions: a crimson hooded cape with the hood up, a cream dress with a tiny apron, and sturdy brown boots made for forest paths. She is the bravest little traveler in the Storybook woods — Grandmother's house is that way, she is not afraid of the trees, and the short way through the woods is fine, as long as you walk it like you own it. A new account starts with 150 free Muse Coins at signup, so Robin is a day-one collect — the room's second-rarest Muse, for exactly the signup grant.
Every traveler deserves an escort, and Knight Nolan is a Rare at 75 coins: polished silver armor, a lion shield on his chest, a short crimson cape, and an open helmet with a proud red plume, pushed up so everyone can see he is smiling. He rescues kittens, lost ducklings, and one very embarrassed dragon, in that order. Together the pair costs 225 coins bought one by one — the journey and its guard.

Idea 3: Befriend the Magical Creatures — the Unicorn and the Dragon
The room's two Epics — 100 Muse Coins each, capped at 1,000 editions — are its magical creatures, and both are built to be befriended rather than feared. Unicorn Una is the Storybook meadow's one and only unicorn: a pearly lavender-pink body, a golden spiral horn, a rainbow mane flowing down one side, and tiny golden hooves. She appears exactly when a story needs a little more wonder, and believes wonder is real for exactly as long as you keep looking for it.
Dragon Ember is the collection's baby dragon: an emerald-green body with a cream segmented belly, two little wings, tiny horns, and a spiked tail that curls when he is pleased. He breathes mostly warmth, and only the occasional marshmallow-toasting puff; he guards a hoard of exactly one shiny button and takes the job very seriously, because a dragon's real treasure is a warm cave and warmer friends. The pair costs 200 coins bought singly — one creature of the meadow, one of the cave.

Idea 4: Take Tea With the Eccentrics — the Hatter and the Curious Girl
Some shelves are quests; this one is a tea party. Hatter Humphrey, a Rare at 75 Muse Coins, is the tea party's eternal host: a tall green top hat with a cream band, a plum tailcoat, a teacup-print waistcoat, and a polka-dot bow tie the size of a small decision. It is always tea time where he is standing, the riddles make no sense, the tea is somehow always full, and he believes the best conversations happen at a table that is slightly too small.
His essential guest is Curious Alice, one of the room's four Commons at 50 coins with no edition cap: a sky-blue dress with a crisp white pinafore apron, a black bow headband, white socks and sensible black shoes for falling down rabbit holes in. She has tea with hatters, chess with queens, and strong opinions about which mushroom side does what — and she believes 'why' is the most magical word in any language. Host and guest together cost 125 coins: the whole tea party, riddles included.

Idea 5: Hold Court — the Queen and the Sleeping Beauty
For a shelf with a throne room, Storybook keeps two kinds of royalty. Queen Cordelia, a Rare at 75 Muse Coins, is the court's queen of hearts: a dramatic red, black and white gown patterned all over with hearts, a small golden heart crown, and a grand white fur-trimmed collar. She rules her kingdom of cards with a velvet glove and a very theatrical eyebrow — off with their worries, she decrees, and tea for everyone: a queen's first decree should always be kindness, announced loudly.
Across the castle, Rose Briar is a Common at 50 coins: Storybook's sleeping beauty, caught just after the best nap in literature in a rose-pink gown with gold trim, soft draped sleeves, and a small rose hairpin, only slightly crooked from a century of sleep. The spinning wheels are banned forever, and she is making up for lost time one ball at a time — she believes every long wait ends, and the ending is worth dressing up for. Queen and princess together cost 125 coins bought singly.

Idea 6: Meet the Friends Along the Road — the Scarecrow and the Booted Cat
The last two Commons — 50 Muse Coins each, with no edition cap — are the friends every quest picks up along the way. Scarecrow Solly is the friendliest scarecrow in the Storybook fields: a patched plaid shirt, denim overalls, and a straw hat with straw tufts poking out and one crow feather riding on top. The crows he was built to frighten are now his oldest friends, and he believes a fellow stuffed with straw can still have the kindest brain of all.
Booted Cat Pico is the road's most dashing cat: an orange cat body in tall brown cavalier boots, a feathered musketeer hat, and a little belted jacket worn at a roguish angle. He has never lost a duel, mostly because he talks everyone out of dueling; kings owe him favors, ogres owe him apologies, and style, he believes, is a strategy — boots are most of it. Any three Commons together cost 150 coins — exactly the signup grant — so Solly, Pico and one more tale can open your shelf on day one.

Idea 7: Take the Whole Book With the 300-Coin Bundle
If choosing one tale feels impossible, the room has a simple answer. Bought one by one, all twelve Storybook Muses total 1,050 Muse Coins — 200 for the Mythic, 150 for the Legendary, 100 each for the two Epics, 75 each for the four Rares and 50 each for the four Commons. The Storybook bundle is 300 coins for the entire book. At the time of writing, every capped Storybook Muse is still at zero claimed, so the whole edition run is still open.
That makes the bundle the honest shortcut for completists, and singles the right route for everyone else: start with the one tale you would actually live in — Robin on the signup grant, the creature pair for 200, or three Commons for 150 — and let the shelf grow tale by tale. Either way, every unlock is one-time and yours forever, with the full prompt pack, conversation style and full-resolution download included, ready to use in Muse.

Frequently asked questions
How many storybook avatars are there?
Twelve — one Muse per tale in Storybook, from Godmother Gilda's periwinkle star-spangled ball gown to Booted Cat Pico's tall cavalier boots. The whole room is a 300-coin bundle.
How much does a storybook avatar cost?
By rarity: the one Mythic, Godmother Gilda, is 200 Muse Coins; the one Legendary, Red Hood Robin, is 150; two Epics are 100; four Rares are 75; and four Commons are 50 with no edition cap. Bought one by one, all twelve total 1,050 coins.
What is the cheapest way to collect all 12 Storybook Muses?
The bundle: 300 Muse Coins for the entire room, against 1,050 bought singly. A new account's 150 signup coins cover Red Hood Robin on her own, or any two Rares, or three Commons while you save toward it.
Are the Storybook Muses original designs?
Yes. The room's rule is original designs drawn from the classic public-domain tales — a fairy godmother, a red-hooded traveler, a baby dragon, a unicorn, a knight, a queen of hearts, a hatter, a wizard, a booted cat, a curious girl, a scarecrow and a sleeping-beauty princess, each drawn as a full storybook character.
